Care Unit in
Suideroord Main Building
Suideroord Main Building currently has a separate unit with 4 hospital beds where a person can be admitted for R500 per day for up to 3 weeks for post-operative aftercare, recovery from serious illness or accidents. Accommodation in a fully equipped 3-bed room, as well as a single private room for palliative care, is available. All four beds have their own TV with DSTV and Dutch Reformed Church channel.

The accommodation costs are payable in advance for the period of booking. After 3 weeks, each case is dealt with on merit. Transport by the Suideroord ambulance vehicle to the local hospital is available at additional cost.

Suideroord Old Age Home is currently in the process of applying for a sub-acute license which will enable the public to claim from their medical aid.
Intermediate Unit at
Ons Huis
Suideroord Old Age Home provides a contractual service by the Department of Health with 3 subsidized beds for sub-economic persons with the need for post-operative aftercare, recovery from serious illness or accident. Admission takes place via a designated selection committee.
These 3 intermediate hospital beds are situated at Ons Huis where patients can be cared for at no cost for 42 days. Criteria for admission are available on request from Ons Huis and Suideroord. The primary goal is to eventually relocate the patient to his/her home in the community.
