Catering
NURSING AND CARE

An experienced nursing team consisting of registered and enrolled nursing sisters, assistant nurses and caregivers is led by a highly qualified Manager: Nursing. They ensure that day-to-day care is provided to each resident to meet their personal needs and that prescriptions are carefully executed. Housekeeping and laundry services form an integral part of the day to day care of residents and are professionally executed by a qualified team of cleaning staff also under the management of Manager: Nursing.

  • Supervision by a Qualified Manager: Nursing

  • Regular monitoring of all residents by nursing staff

  • Regular courtesy visits in rooms

  • Monthly health examinations, e.g. blood pressure tests

  • Daily assistance with meals, bathing and dressing, as well as personal hygiene.

  • Wound care and other procedures, e.g. vitamin and flu injections

  • Medication management (including organizing prescriptions from consulting rooms and pharmacies) and administering medication by nursing staff

  • Medical waste management and disposal

  • 24/7 Laundry and ironing service

  • Rooms and apartments are thoroughly cleaned weekly. Special care and bedridden residents' rooms are serviced daily.

  • Residents' clothes and linen are washed weekly, but contaminated linen daily.

Sickbay services for residents outside the Main Building

Residents are entitled to 3 weeks free care per year in the sickbay, after which further services will be appropriately quoted.

Hospital Transport

Suideroord Old Age Home has a customized hospital vehicle for transporting bedridden and wheelchair patients to the local hospital.

 

Transport to dentist, ophthalmologist and doctor's visits can also be provided with minimal payment by prior arrangement.

Terrain and Maintenance

  • 24/7 Security which includes a night security guard, monitoring cameras, laser beams at ground floor apartments and security gates with electronic locks at all exits

  • Continuous maintenance and garden services

  • Refuse removal services for annex dwellings and flats

  • Full Safety Plan with Annual Evacuation Exercises

  • Limited covered parking is available to residents with own vehicles at a cost.

  • The Main Building and Villas are equipped with a standby generator that automatically activates in the event of a power failure or loadshedding

Tuck Shop

A weekly tuck shop is available to all residents with all sorts of delicacies, fresh fruits and basic toiletries.

 

Suideroord's own homemade rusks are also for sale.
