PERMANENT CARE FACILITIES
ASSISTED LIVING UNITS
Various options are available for persons who wish to exercise their independence in a safe environment with basic support services as necessary. Individuals living in residential units and annex homes separate from the Suideroord Main Building enjoy partial health care, with 3 weeks of free accommodation in the sickbay during illness or post-surgery. Should health deteriorate to such an extent that the individual is no longer self-sufficient, he/she will be permanently admitted to the main building where full care can be provided. All residents have full access to all programs and activities offered in the main building.

RENTAL OPTIONS
Annex Houses
with 5-6 residents each
There are currently 3 annex houses located in the immediate vicinity of the main building with communal furnished living rooms. Residents furnish their own room within these annex houses and have full access and use of all the communal rooms. Some rooms have en-suite bathrooms and others share bathrooms, which in turn affects the unit levy per room.

FRAIL CARE
The main building is fully equipped for the care of frail elderly persons with full sickbay facilities and a separate Alzheimer's unit. Full care provided by qualified nurses and caregivers on a 24-hour basis.
All meals and tea are delivered with room service to frail persons and those who are ill or recovering after surgery.
All cleaning and laundry services are also included in the unit rates.

Suideroord Old Age Home also has resident pets, namely two cats, Jacob and Lea, and 4 budgies that provide cheer in the sickbay and Alzheimer's unit. Jacob and Lea provide precious therapy, not only to frail, elderly people, but also hours of entertainment and fun for residents, especially those with mental disabilities.
Main Building
Accommodation here comprises of a choice of single rooms, double rooms (married couples) and rooms with own toilet facilities. All rooms are equipped with a built-in wardrobe, sink, and multi wall-plug and TV point. Residents may have a telephone and television, but since they are subject to relocation, installation is at their own expense.
Alzheimer's Unit
A separate unit is fully equipped to accommodate residents in the advanced phase of dementia / Alzheimer's. This features its own communal living spaces and private outdoor patio where family and friends can visit with loved ones. All rooms are equipped with a wardrobe, sink, multi wall-plug and TV point.
ONS HUIS
This annex facility, located approximately 3km from the Suideroord Main Building, offers accommodation to 29 sub-economic elderly persons with social merit conditions. The Suideroord Nursing Manager visits them at least once a week and supervises the carers on site.
Prescribed food services under the control and management of the Food Service Manager are delivered on-site, with the main meal delivered hot daily from the Suideroord main kitchen. Full laundry, cleaning and care services are provided, as well as maintenance and garden services. All rooms are fully furnished and DSTV is available in a communal lounge.
